About Me

My photo

Hi everyone! I am a veterinary technician living in NY who loves to pen pal and make cards in my spare time. I have never been good at crafts since I can barely draw a straight line with a ruler but I was determined to give it a go.  I love learning all the different techniques and ways to craft. Follow me on my journey as I grow as a card maker!

OSAAT Challenge 190

Hi my crafty friends! It's time for another challenge at One Stitch at A Time

Theme : Anything Goes

Sponsor : StitchyBear Digi Outlet
Prize : All the digi images that the DT  used in challenge # 188

Here is my DT project:

This week I got to work with this newspaper man image by Pookie.  I thought this image would be great for a steampunk Sherlock Holmes bookmark to use as part of a Christmas gift! I colored the image with my Promarkers and just use the top part to add on the bookmark.  I used some new Graphic 45 steampunk paper that I am in love with.  I added a Tim Holtz metal gear. I printed the image twice and cut out the newspaper, attached a foam dot then placed it on the bookmark for some dimenson. I drew the speech bubble and added the "sentiment." That makes it so much easier to see where I was going with this creation.  Ribbon was added at the top.  I am really pleased with the end product!

Since this weeks theme is Anything Goes I expect to see you there.  Head on over for more inspiration from my amazing DT mates!

Entering in the following challenges:
natalie and amy - for the boys
The paper shelter - for someone special
crafty ribbons - anything with ribbon
delicious doodles - CAS

  1. Like how you gave the image a Sherlock Holmes look for your tag. Tim Holtz items are wonderful. Masculine cards are not my easiest to make and you did a wonderful job. Like how everyone has a variety of ways to show off the image.

  9. Wow Erin, what a beautiful and very creative idea. I love the idea of creating a 'Sherlock Holmes' bookmark" and you have been so thoughtfful in creating enough dimension to add to the interest of this creation but not so much that the spine of the favourite novel is not spoilt by too much bulk. This will be a very special gift to a man who loves his books. Love Ingrid xxx
