Hello everyone! It's Monday! I know we all hate Monday's right? I know I do! I'm here today to share with you a special hop.
I was tagged for this hop by my good friend Vicky Fortier of
Crafting Vicky. She tagged me on this post
here.
How did I meet Vicky? If you read her post you will see that she isn't quite sure how it happened! I guess now is a good time as any to come clean, Vicky! I stalked her blog and creations for months before we started chatting and became friends! I always admired her work and stared at her projects each week for inspiration! Then one day she posted this awesome Valentines card that she thought no one would want so I knew that was my chance to snag one of her awesome creations! We have became great friends since! We share ideas, cards, supplies and lots of laughs. I am so thankful that she thought no one would want that card or else we may never have actually started chatting! Not to get all weepy eyed but I feel that she is closer to me than some of my friends here even though we have never met!
The start
Everyone always asks me how I started making cards! I love to pen pal! Weird, right? Who writes letters anymore? Well, there is a whole community of people who love the snail mail as much as I do! I saw some ladies making envelope art and sending handmade creations to their pals and I wanted to do that as well! at first, I just started with simple cards that now look ridiculous! I happened across another card marker who was a pen paller as well,
Sammibug! We started chatting online and in letters! With her help, I have become the crafty person I am today!
What am I working on
These are just a few supplies I am using for a current project I am working on! Something I have never done before! I am trying to step out of my comfort zone. I also just got some dylusion sprays and journal to learn some mixed media art.
What do I create
I am mainly a card maker at the moment. I would love to venture into making some altered items. Wouldn't they make great gifts? I have thought about making some ATC's but they are so small! How can fit I fit bling on them?
How does my creative process work and how do I get and stay inspired
I am on a few DT's which is great for me because it helps me stay focused to actually make projects instead of just staring at my supplies. I don't think I would have progressed nearly as much if it wasn't for the fact that I have DT spots. I get a lot of inspiration from other crafters. I admit that I don't have very many original thoughts so I need a little jump start from someone much more creative than me!
I put both questions together because basically the answer that I had put was good for both!
My style? How does it differ?
My style..... well I think I am a clean and simple card maker. I see all these awesome cards loaded with die cuts and flowers. I would love to be that creative one day. I do see my style changing though the more I learn about crafting. I have been taking some coloring classes which are really helping me make the images look so much better. I have been getting a little more creative with the layouts and bling added
I
have tagged a creative friend, who will be sharing their creative
journey's with you next week Monday, 4 August 2014.
Andrea is the owner of the
Savvy Handmade Cards blog. She was kind enough to offer me a DT spot making projects for her blog each challenge. She is a super sweet and creative lady. I love her work. She is a stampin up demonstrator! She is always there to help me out if I ever need anything. Thank you Andrea. Can't wait to get to know you better.
